Hi

* locality - Silgueiros - Viseu - PORTUGAL
* date - 2007.04.29
* size - 4 mm (small fly)
* habitat - woodland (many ferns (some small trees..), Fagus spp., Pinus spp., Acacia sp., Urtica sp., and others)
* substrate - Near urtica and a small streamer


Ephydridae... which one?

I didn?t use glue. :D The best way is silk thread to hang the flies in the stick. :D ehe

Hi Jorge
Not Parydra aquila - that has very short head bristles. This looks very much like P. coarctata, but you may have other species in Portugal that are similar.
