Foulness Essex 22/4/07
Found in my moth trap - so probably nocturnal
13cm head to tip of abdomen
I think this is Limoniidae - it seems short-palped and sc forks to join both C and V1.
Its generally orange/yellow colour, wing pattern and hairs on the dorsum are fairly striking. Does anyone recognise it?

I think this is Limonia sp sensu lato, and probably sensu stricto. There are several species with such a wing pattern, so I can not help you further.

Gabor is correct, it is Limonia (Limonia). Your second image shows very well the R1+2 is more than twice the length of R2, a character for Limonia s.s.
