Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Drosophilidae with pale humeri 2009-VI-25 (= Amiota)

Massachusetts, USA June 25, 2009

I was told that males of some Drosophila have red testes visible in the abdomen, but I don't have a list of which species.

Genus Amiota, I'd say.

Thank you. According to one reference, species "are to be found in woods, and are stated to be attracted by perspiration and to hover near the eyes of people." I met this fly in woods when it was attracted to my perspiration, and another flew into my eye.
