I'd check Drymeia latifrons Malloch, 1918. Descibed and known from Rocky Mountains, Colorado

Thank you. I didn't expect a species name. It seems consistent as far as I can see. I could never have run it through a key. I live in a moist, temperate climate near sea level and am unfamiliar with alpine and arctic flies.

Drymeia spinitarsis based on the bristles of the mid basitarsus.
D. longiseta from the Altai Mountains is a junior synonym according to the revision by Savage and Sorokina.
