This is another of the Bombyliid species seen on my recent tour to Bulgaria. I think this might be
Systoechus ctenopteris or similar but would welcome suggestions confirming or correcting this tentative identification if possible. It was found at a roadside stop near Bansko on 27 June 2013.

Hello Alan,
This could be Sysoechus, yes. However. It could easily be a Bombylius. The difference is only visible in a lateral shot of the eyes. Then there are eight European species of Systoechus and I have currently no idea how to seperate them.
