I'm told these are the nymph stage - is it possible to tell what species it is so I can view image of the adult. They are extremely common in SW London, this one in october, about 3mm.

Could it be a nymph of Issus coleoptratus?

Could well be thanks. Googled your suggestion and found a photo that matched mine.
