Thread subject: Diptera.info :: scavenging fly

I presume this is a case of scavenger rather than predator. Could you hazard a guess at the two species, Order will do. Presume larger fly is Coenosia? Taken in SW London.

Predator. Muscidae: Coenosia, perheps C. tigrina
Prey. Agromyzidae: Phytomyza?

thanks - the prey is certainly not unlike the Cerodontha hennigi in the Agromyzidae gallery.
Are the Coenosia known to attack living flies rather than just feed on dead ones?

Yes, they are known predators.
