Caught both on rocks near stream in forest. I think this is the male and the female of the same species.

Is it possible to Identify the genus. And if so, what literature was used for that. And is there literature available to identify the species?

Thnx,

Thanx for the ID.

I was able to locate a key for the European Asilids. Engel 1938, Fliegen der Palaearktischen region.

There these two key out to Heteropogon manicatus. Lehr 1988 mentions the species as occuring in France. The type locality is, according to Lehr 1988, Provence!
