Hello,

I seek some help for this little Tephritidae sp : I think it is some Oxyna sp :

(Echevannes, near Dijon - France - 9 july 2005 - 5 mm from front to the apex of wing)

If so, there should be 3 species in France, according to Fauna Europaea : O. flavipennis, O. nebulosa, and O. parietina.

Are the species criterions distinguishable on photos ?

Thanks for advice.

Hi Martha,

Very good, it's indeed and Oxyna, O. flavipennis.
The larvae make galls at the border of the stem and the root of Achillea millefolium, looks like that's exactely where you photographed it on ;)
