this fly was walking quickly about the leaves sweeping it's forelegs back and forth like windscreen wipers. On wooded farmland in south herts. Any suggestions most welcome

I believe the sweeping action is to sense food such as honeydew on the leaf surface. If I'm wrong about that, someone is sure to say! ;)
