I came across this smart bee munching Asilid on Gran Canaria last month. I hope it will be possible to get a rough ID from the picture. Thanks

Promachus latitarsatus, endemic to Gran Canaria. Isn't it munching a Syrphid fly?

The prey is certainly a worker from Apis mellifera, look at the long radial cell in the fore wing.

Thanks for the ID - what a treat to spot an endemic (and its prey..) :D
