Who is this elegant long-legged quietly dressed creature? Female, 7mm, from 21 November 2006, east London cemetery park.

I thought about Tachinidae, because I couldn't figure out what Muscid it could be with that M vein, but the postscutellum doesn't seem very developed.

It's a tachinid alright and my gut feeling (let's follow it this time) tells me Macquartia grisea.

Macquartia grisea is nearly always taken for a Muscidae at first glance, even by me.

Oh, I just noticed, the calyptrae are small, confirmed M. grisea
