Hello everybody,

I have a question regarding Suillia pallida. When I received a copy of P. Withers key of Suillia I noticed his description of S. pallida, see page 95 of Proc. Trans. Br. Ent. Nat. Hist. Soc. 20, 1987.
He says the arista is long plumose. I tried to contact Mr. Withers, but in vain, unfortunately.
The point is that in the key, which I use most often, namely Papp`s key in the Fauna Hungariae, it is given that the arista is hairy, which, I think, is correct. Gorodkov mentions the arista to be pubescent or almost bare. Collin is his key as well. Same story of Czerny (lang pubeszent).
Is Mr. Wither remark concerning the arista just a slip of the pen?

The arista is short plumose only :).

Oops, more about S. pallida :).
The plumosity is very short (lang pubescent).
In Withers paper the aedeagi are not figured, when Withers wrote aedeagus he thought eadeagal apodeme :).
