Although this resembles my two previously posted flies, it struck me as considerably more robust, which is why I'm uploading it separately.
Place: Chongwe District, Lusaka, Zambia.
Habitat: Several patrolling flowering local tree (swarming with african honeybees), in orchard/dry scrub patchwork.
Date: 22.10.2011
Size: 3-3.5 cm.

It occurs to me that this might simply be a male of the species already IDed - is this likely to be Promachus?
