Size approx. 9 mm. December 12, 2011, Trat prov., Koh Chang island, White Sand Beach area, Sai Khao Inn env., edge of rubber tree plantation.

there is also another interesting relationship with this ant. The salticid spider Cosmophasis bitaeniata is a myrmecophilic associate of the green tree ant, Oecophylla smaragdina... see here:

I saw a different ant-mimicking spider nearby Jorge, couldn't shoot or catch it though, it was looking rather like a crab spider. Yes I think yours is a very similar or same fly miscicapa.
