Hello
I've have identified this hymenopter as Pimpla sp. perheaps Pimpla rufipes (= hypocondriaca, = instigator) : length 14 mm, antenna 12 mm, terebra 4 mm, all black and legs red
Photo taken in NE of France, in september 2006
Is it really ?

Hi Louis ... keying it roughly from the photo it looks like a typical
Pimpla spp. (all black body, orange legs, areolet, 'erect' ovipositor) :)

Pimpla to me too though I have a bad track record in Pimplinae recently:(:(. I'll try to compare with reliably specimens later today Robert
