Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Syrphidae - Cheilosia sp. ?

Hoverfly feeding on potentilla about 8mm body length taken Jul 3rd South coast UK.
Looking in the gallery i though it was rather similar to Cheilosia caerulescens but suspect that is not found in the UK ?

Any ideas ?

Cheilosia caerulescens is found in the UK

It's not in Stubbs & Falk (yet!) best look in van Veen 2004
