Good morning,

There were many of these flies (size about 2,5 mm) on and near a little pond near Heerlen (Kunderberg) during the last weeks.

Hydrellia (Ephydridae). It's a large genus and badly in need of revision in northern & central Europe.

Thanks Kahis,

In the Dutch checklist I see 17 Hydrellia's, and looking at them, I don't think that someone would have named this fly H. obscura, so with my knowledge 16 possibilities remain.
