Hi,
Recently we had an interesting Lonchaeidae thread (http://72.44.83.9...d_id=39192), and from Iain's explanations I learn that a long flagellomere might point to Lonchaea. Mine has yellow tarsi - is this helpful in species ID, or must I already be happy to have a genus?
The little fly was seen yesterday on dead wood.
Many thanks, Sundew

Unfortunately things are never that easy! - more European Lonchaeidae have yellow feet than black feet! _ I would go for genus Lonchaea but with such a wide frons (between the eyes) genus Earomyia may also be a possibility - sorry not to be more exact ........ Iain
