...but I can't seem to find what this could be.
Rather large fly (10-15mm?) visiting flowers (goldenrud etc) on an unused patch of land of business park "Boeldershoek" near Hengelo (Overijssel) in the Netherlands. Photo taken 2006-09-11

Your fly is Cynomyia mortuorum (Calliphoridae), dutch: Lijkenvlieg

(they come in green as well)

It's just amazing how much easier it is to find matching pictures once you have name :p
Unbecomming name btw, for the easy-going flower-visiting critter it appeared to be that day.
