Hello,

Is there anybody, who can determine this snakefly species. I've got a lateral and dorsal photo from this snakefly:

Thanx for your replies, Martin...

I'm afraid it will be impossible to tell the species, because you need both pairs of wings and end of abdomen to be visible... (at least in key that I have)
I managed to see several cross veins in pterostigma on first picture and the form of the head together with length of prothorax indicate that it should be family Raphidiidae.
Maybe someone will suggest something more.

Using the British key by Plant it keys out to Phaeostigma notata BUT there is a remark in the key. If there less than 10 cross veins in the costal area (as in this species) it might well be Rhaphidia ophiopsis.

Just my two cents...
