Thread subject: Diptera.info :: flies on waterplants

hello fly-forum,

I found these flies on dried waterplants (on the bank)

It's got typical mouthparts and orange in the face and on the legs.

what kind of fly is this?

Not absolutely certain, but they could be Spaziphora hydromyzina (Scathophagidae)

Thank you Tony!, in the Netherlands there is one Spaziphora sp. = Spaziphora hydromyzina

Perhabs it is from another Scathopagidae group?

No Spaziphora. It is Trichopalpus fraternus (Meigen, 1826)
