Hello!
This small (4-5 mm) fly, which I photographed 5 minutes ago just next to my PC B) (Germany), has golden thorax hairs like a
Pollenia but - besides the small size - also no Calliphorid wing venation. What is it? Thank in advance!

Hello!
Here another pic showing a little bit more of the wing venation.

Hi J?rgen - This wing venation is OK for Pollenia, and those wavy golden hairs are distinctive - I don't think any other calypterate has them (well, some of the scathophagids have golden hairs, but they can't be confused). Don't be worried by the small size. Rognes records some species as small as 4.5mm (usually the males are smaller).

Thanks a lot! I thought, the bend in vein M was not sharp enough for a Callophorid, more like the "pseudo bend" of some Muscids.
