Hi
and the last one from summer 2010. I found similar in Gallery the G.cf clavatum,
but I only can compare pics and that often brings me to a wrong result.
Could anybody help please for this Gymnosoma too? Thanks a lot.
Switzerland, 430 msm, near edge of wood and small wetland, 01.08.2010
Best regards, Brigitte

Most people cannot get good identifications by just comparing photos of
Gymnosoma - they are difficult even for the experts who know which bits to look at ;) This is a male
Gymnosoma and if it was photographed in the same locality/date as the females then it might be a
G.costatum again ... but that's just a guess - I would need a few specimens to be sure :)

Hi Chris
the first female was 29.05.2010, 412 msm, near garden and small bitch
= same village, not the same place
the new female (dark one) is from 01.08.2010 11:19
the round-spotted (male) is 01.08.2010 too, same place, 10:49
It could even be, that they were on the same flower, or flower "next door".
Thank you! Best regards, Brigitte

Hi Brigitteu,
You got lucky once, with the female costatum, however, that was exceptional.
This might be the male of costatum, but there is no way to be sure from these pictures. If the scutellum is really completely black,.......
