Hi,

my first guess was Neoitamus cf. socius (http://www.dipter...oto_id=898) but then I saw the similar Neomochtherus geniculatus (http://www.dipter...to_id=1001) and unfortunately there is no female for both of them in the gallery. I would tend to Neoitamus but maybe it's not possible to separate them properly or I am wrong. Any helpful comments?

It was found in Sweden near Gustavsfors.

Kind regards
Andreas

For Neomochterus geniculatus the "knees" (top of femurs) should be yellow/red. So I guess Neoitamus but there is a lot of black in the tibia and i cant see the facialknob very well as some other features. Wait for the expert....

... I added the attached picture taken from a slight different angle. It's almost the same but might be helpful(?)

Greetings

It's Neoitamus. You can see the bent occipital bristles.
