Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Anthomyiidae sp.

hello flyforum,

This Anthomyiidae sp. reminds me of the E. hilaris-fly of Jan Zwaanevelds (see forum: beautiful fly)
Some similarity, but so far I can see the stripe on the thorax is a bit different..
It is a pitty I couldn't make a good picture from above.

Is this also Eustalomyia hilaris?, or are there more such typical flies?

This is not Eustalomyia, but is the related genus Anthomyia. There are a number of very similar species, difficult to tell apart without examining the male genitalia.
