of a Lepidoptera.

This photo was taken by my friend Pedro Pires with mine orientation. This photo has 2 mm maximum length! We used Canon 30D + teleconverter for canon + mine extension Kenko tubes + M-PE 65 mm + two flashes with home-made diffusers, and a very strong monopod to keep all full set (about 42 cm length.) very tight. The photo shows the scales of a butterfly with less than 0,2 mm with a very impressive detail and an exuvia of an acari - less than 1 mm. The post-processing was made by myself with Adobe CS3. This is the first microphotography we made. Soon we will try with dipters and neuropters. Enjoy.

I hope to get some photos of the wings and maybe (?) halteres from flies. It only works with flat surfaces, unless I use the stacking. With this magnification it is rather hard to get decent photos. But with this gear it gives some good results.
