This larva was discovered in soil in mountains in North Vietnam.

I have absololutely no idea, but it is definitely a Cyclorrapha pupa. It is often necessary to study the posterior spiracles (the dark rings on the right) in detail. The anterior spiracles (the multi-branched processes on the left) resembles a bit like (European) Scatophagidae/Muscidae/Anthomyiidae. I think I see the wing-sheaths through the pupal skin, so it may be possible to dissect the pupa.
