Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Asilidae, Sri Lanka ID help

This is te commonest Asilid in my home garden. It is less than 1.5cm in length. Head width not more than 3-4mm. Also please help to ID the prey species.

Thanks Culex!:) All the big head shots were shot at 5 times the life size with no tripod. Very pleased with the results.

The second prey (pic 2) is a Plant bug (Miridae).

It's a species of the subfamily Ommatiinae (plumose arista).
