Hello!

A week ago there sat a fly on a bush at a wood lane at the outskirts of Zwickau, SE Saxony, Germany. It was 8 mm long and slurped up a bug.

Can you identify this fly and its sex, please?

Thank you

It is a female Dioctria robberfly. I think it is D. linearis but let's wait for an expert opinion.

And the prey is an anthocoridae, possibly genus Orius.
