Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Trigonometopus frontalis (Lauxaniidae)?

Today (28/05/2009) I found this fantastic fly:D!! I assume this is Trigonometopus frontalis, is that correct? If so, I think it's new to the Iberian Peninsula:o.

Are these crazy kind of Lauxaniids also found in Europe? Wouldn't have tought so:) Nice one!

This is very common in wetlands throughout Europe, so odd-looking, not rare (bit like me, in fact !)

LOL:). Thank you Phil, so maybe this species is rarer in the Iberian Peninsula? Maybe it's more adapted to cooler places...
