These images were taken at the end of November in Cairo, Egypt on the edge of the Nile.
The plant, [i]Alhagi graecorum.[i] is a native most often found in arid areas and attracts numerous species of insecta.

This is not a fly (Diptera) but a bee/wasp (Hymenoptera). If you don't get any ID here you can try

Thanks for the link its proving very helpful as insecta is a new hobby and I have loads of unidentified pix!
