Thread subject: Diptera.info :: A Vespidae to identify please,

Hello I photographied this hymenoptera at the Mont Orford National Park in Quebec, near Vermont, USA, last June (21st).
I'm not sure about the id but I'm suspecting a Vespidae, genus Ancistrocerus.
Any suggestion?
Also, I would like to know which picture amongst the 2, do you prefer?

What about a male
Odynerus ?
Choosing betwen both pictures is difficult. The second one has a better view of antennae, on the petal background. Also, the petals of the flower are better placed in the picture frame.
On the other hand, the first one is more dynamical.

Hello all,
Thank you for your great help about the identification of this species.
Pierre, I read that Odynerus and Ancistrocerus are the same. Thank you for your appreciation of the pictures! I agree with your analysis. Here we can see with these hooked antennas that it is a male.
Cthirion, thank you very much for this link that I will keep preciously.
It will be then Ancistrocerus sp.
