I think this is Norellisoma sp - can anyone help me get any further? Female, 8mm,from east London cemetery park, 29 April 2006.

Susan, it is Scathophagidae, but not Norellisoma. It is fly with 4 setas on scutellum, so most probably it is Scathophaga or Cordilura.

Oh - OK. All the Cordilura I can find seem too dark for this fly. Is Scathophaga inquinata a possibility? S furcata is the only Scathophagid listed for the site this fly came from, apart from S stercoraria, but the site list is pretty incomplete (no Muscids, no Anthos, only one Tachinid, for instance), and I think S furcata is also too dark. I have ruled out S stercoria because the antennae are orange, not black - that is right isn't it?
