Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Sciomyzidae: Limnia? --> L. unguicornis

Hello!

This 6 mm fly I found on September-10 in limestone quarry in northwest Germany. Could it be Limnia unguicornis?

Yes, Juergen.
It is male, but still I think you can name it Limnia unguicornis without "cf"

Pierre, my reason is:
If we can't distinguish 2 species we choise an older one (L.unguicornis - Scopoli), the most common and widesperead one.

What's more, I have some personal doubts about L.palludicola. At least, I'm not convincved myself so far...
