Thread subject: Diptera.info :: little predator

hi flyforum,

This little fly (~3mm) catched some prey.

The fly was a bit shiny dark black and the body short and fat.

picture one is a different fly then the other flies on the pictures.

Suggestions are welcome :)

You see a typical characterstic? of these specie (Coenosia atra) ?

are the yelow/red-ish kneesparts typical perhabs?

Coenosia atra is unmistakable, because there is no similar species. A small shiny black predator with dusty grey side of thorax. And this species is common in most of Europe.
