Photographed in my garden today . Size- 3mm approx.
Was doing a bit of wing waving so I thought it was Sepsidae, then saw Palloptera in the Gallery and thought it looked similar.

You'll have to rename the thread (again !): this is a Geomyza (Opomyzidae).

Nice photos! Indeed like Jorge wrote this is Geomyza tripunctata, a female.
