This was seen on a golf course on the outskirts on Cairo in November. Apologies for the appalling pix but as soon I started to change my lens to a macro, it burrowed into the earth and attempts to find it failed dismally!

extremely small the photo... it seems a wasp.. not a diptera by sure.
