Hi, these very small Dolichopodidae seems to be common just now here in Finland. August 13.2008 Helsinki, Finland.

This species is locally common on the south coast. The are rather few records from the interior of the country - perhaps because it flies in late summer when the activity of dipterists tend to fall and the preferred biotope of S. bicolorellus - dense willow carr - are mostly avoided by collecters.
