I hope this one is not so complicated. Quite large, aprox. 1 cm. 1900 masl. Mountain wet grass area. Sierra Nevada, Granada, S Spain. 03-08-2008.

One for Theo but it rings bells - looks dexiine to me and the petiole will be a good indicator :)

I agree. Dexiini and stalk means either Estheria or Zeuxia (I might be cutting some corners here). This is Estheria and given the spotted crossvein r-m I'd guess it is E. picta.

Despite the fact that we ID quite a lot of Tachinids on this forum, also Spanish, it is a rather hazardous operation. Only 'obvious' cases from Spain can be IDed for sure. I'm just explaining that taking pictures and not collecting will evitable lead to some disappointments.
