Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Phaonia? / Muscidae?

Hello Flyforum,

Is this female fly a Phaonia sp.? or is it perhabs Muscidae sp.?
Length > 10mm

I don't think that Brain's fly and this one is the same. More, I think that Robert is right. This very spring I collected in Sochi, Black Sea couple flies like this with dark cross veins, both from tree bark. I send it to Andrey Ozerov and as far as I understand him by telephon conversation it is realy some Phaonia species. I'll see Ozerov soon and than come back to this thread.

I remembered that I have to ask Ozerov about some fly, but forgot which fly. Till today. Today I met Robert's fly myself in Moscow region. So, I called Andrey.
Viola, Phaonia fuscata.
