Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Megamerina dolium

Habitat: Dead aspen

This fly looks like Blacks photo of a Megamerina dolium in the gallery. Could it be one of those? As I recall it the fly was waving its front legs while moving.

Just like you said, a male, the whole band (Strongylophthalmyia, Neopachygaster, Stegana, Homalocephala, Megamerina, Peplomyza, etc.) is back on my favourite fallen aspens.

I must find dead aspens!!! It seems a GREAT caller for flies! :D But here there are not much aspens. :(
