Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Big asilid from Spain

Last Sunday in Valsalada, Monegros regi?n, Aragon, NE Spain about 300 meters in a road between fields of Phragmites australes. It sizes about 25 mm, like a Dasypogon.

Can be identified?

ANYBODY answer it... Well, maybe can be a species of Dasypogon. Cited for Spain are D. atratus, D. bacescui, D. brevipennis, D. diadema, D. gougeleti, D. melanopterus and D. nigriventris...

Yes, it's a female of a Dasypogon species, but it's impossible to identify females.
