Three images of two exemplars, but I thinks that are the same species.

A week ago. M?laga, south Spain. Habitat: shrubland with wild flowers, degenerated, near almond fields. Size: the first (two pictures) sizes about 25 mm, the second (the last picture) was smaller, about 20 mm. I think that the first is a female and the second a male, it is?

Its a dark female of Cryptocheilus octomaculatus (Pompilidae). Earlier, this form it was known as ssp. eatoni. It occurs mainly in North Africa.

P.S. the name you looked for is Raymond Wahis

Wahis is just back, I have got an Email of him today. But, in this case, I am a good address too because I am revising Cryptocheilus for the moment, and a part of Raymond Wahis collection is with me.

Thanks a lot Christian.

It's a pity, because I have photographe3d Cryptocheilus octomaculatus yet (a very different morph, with nitid yellow spots on the abdomen)
