27 May, Goksu delta, mid south Turkey. Flat sandy landscape, with reed, small shrubs, and lots of low herbaceous plant (10 sm). Silty influences present.

Rather big fly. Some Choerades?

Looks to be a Saropogon sp.

You're most welcome Cor. "Turkish...4: Machimus sp." is probably that genus; "Turkish...5" looks more like a Eutolmus sp. I'm hoping that Dysmachus or Danny Wolff - who know Palaearctic spp. much better than I - might identify these.
