Thread subject: Diptera.info :: strange insect - no idea (cicada kinship?)

Hi,
Today a small insect landed on my trouser leg. My camera had the usual focus problems with such tiny critters. Nevertheless I'd like to show you the pics, because I have no idea where this animal belongs to. Superficially the wings recall a cicada, but the legs are different; the fore legs have broad and flat femura and tibiae. Then, the spreading antennae are quite peculiar. Eyes are hardly recognizable (at least, by my insufficient camera). After photoshooting, the insect hopped (or flew?) off.
I greatly appreciate any idea what it could be. Never seen such a critter before. Many thanks, Sundew

Looks like a Fulgoroidea, Family Delphacidae...They often have these prominent antennae which you do not find very often in the hoppers..
I would guess it is
Asiraca maybe
clavicornis... but I am a Dipterist, so do not trust me too much..

I think
Asiraca clavicornis is the single species in the Asiracinae sub-family in the Delphacidae, at least in Europe.
On our French forum, we had one of them too :

No doubt -
Asiraca clavicornis it is! So it is a cicada indeed, and a very distinctive one. Thank you very much for your help!
