Hi,
on June 7, I found the 8 mm long puparium shown here in a mixed forest in Germany (Saxony). Can the producer of the patterned puparium and its final inhabitant be identified?
Thanks and best regards,
Marion

Hi Marion, the puparium resembles
Episyrphus balteatus except for the pattern (all pupae that I've found were very dark with a diffuse pattern.
The Ichneumonida wasp looks like one of the subfamily
Phygadeuontinae - very tricky but based on your photos not impossible to identify...

Hi Eric, thank you very much for the answer. I searched in the Internet for the subfamily Phygadeuontinae and lost the hope for further ID of the wasp.
