Hallo,

the first time I found the genus Cylindromyia here in northwest Germany, was in August 2019. After that nearly every year single specimens occured, all of them C. brassicaria. But this one from yesterday appears the be Cylindromyia bicolor, correct?
On Heracleum sphondylium on a meadow next to a hedge besides a small brook.

Hallo Jürgen, yes - C. bicolor is correct - and the long claws point to a male.

I can not go so often on photo tours any more for health (and actually temperature...) reasons.

Hello once again,

today I found the species really synanthropic: in our (abandoned) courtyard. Is this also a male?

Hi Jürgen, I'll open a new thread with views of males and females C. bicolor.
It's worth trying to shoot photos of the abdomen laterally and ventrally.

Thank you one more time, Eric! From those pictures it is totally clear, which is boy and which girl. :D

Thanks Eric from my side as well.
Here the link, so that it is easier to find: https://diptera.i..._id=118063

Naïvely looking the the abdomen, the ♀ certainly could be mistaken for a ♂, with its enlarged and curled terminal
