Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Platycheirus ambiguus?

I found a female black Syrphid in my garden, which I tentatively identified as Platycheirus ambiguus, a species I had not collected before. However, pictures on internet show the abdomen with gray spots. With some imagination I can see dusted spts on the abdomen of my specimen, but it remains ambiguus.
Any thoughts on what this could be?
