Hello,
I found this 4-mm-long Chloropidae on April 21 2026.
As you can see, it was perched at the tip of a
Symphytum officinale leaf in a large wet wasteland in Villeneuve dAscq (Nord, France).
The head has a distinctive shape, and the antennae are black with a long white arista.
As for the insect's identity,
Chlorops frontosus has been suggested to me. This is possible, but I don't really recognize the abdomen (particularly the colours) in the photos I have seen of this species.
What is your opinion on this ?
Thank you in advance,
Dominique

Hello,
Does anyone have any idea, even just to confirm (or rule out) the genus of this Chloropidae ?
Thanks in advance,
Dominique

Hello, and thank you, Jan, for your response regarding the insect's genus. I assume the species cannot be identified ?
